Umbria

Introduction

Umbria, a region between Tuscany and Rome, is called the green heart of Italy. The area is characterized by green rolling hills and mountains, vineyards and olive groves and ancient walled hill towns such as Asissi or scenic Orvieto. Umbria has a mild Mediterranean climate, countless authentic villages where time has stood still, Etruscan, Roman and medieval sites and a delicious cuisine. The beautiful capital city of Perugia with its narrow streets, the stately Corso Vannucci and Piazza IV Novembre is an absolute must-see.
